Shortly before midnight firefighters were dispatched to 1405 Williams Rd. for a structure fire. YCE911 advised they were receiving multiple calls reporting townhouses on fire behind York Technical Institute. Many calls came from motorists traveling on RT. 30 nearby. Captain 40b (Carpenter) reported smoke showing from a half mile out. Upon arrival he reported several town homes well involved and struck the 2nd alarm. Crews ran multiple lines and portable master stream devices as well as aerial master streams to control the fire.
