Spring Garden and York City firefighters were alerted to a commercial structure fire at the New York Wire Company on Louks Mill Road around 1230pm.

With a bit of luck Engine 15 was only a block away and immediately reported a working fire and laid in to the scene.

The fire, which involved magnesium, was contained to a small area of the factory and duct work.

The working fire response brought firefighters from Manchester and Springettsbury Townships as well as West York Boro.
