25SEP14 Harrisburg City 2417 N 5th 2nd Alarm RSF
Right around 9AM Box 1-3 was transmitted for a house fire in the 2400 block of North 5th Street in the Uptown section of Harrisburg, PA. The assignment was Wagon 3, Tower 2, Tower 1, Squad 8 and Captain 4 (acting BC).
EMS was in the area and reported a well involved fire. Wagon 3 was the first arriving engine company and stretched a 2 1/2" handling while also deploying the deck gun to blitz the fire. Crews then ran multiple lines as well as the step gun.
The first alarm fill out was called for bringing Wagon 4, Rescue 69 and Air 13. Shortly after that Captain 4 (Lloyd) requested a second alarm bringing companies from Dauphin county to the scene.
The homes were vacant and there were no injuries reported.
B Platoon was working.
Special thanks to Michelle Shoemaker for taking the pictures from number 18 on. I had arrived to shoot some pictures but when the second alarm was transmitted I went to work on the off duty recall. She gladly took over shooting some additional images and did a great job.
